Welcome to all the new members! We had a great evening and big turn out last night at Last Chapter. We think we picked some really good reads and because we had so many people and books to choose, we went ahead and selected all the way thru May.

October 20th The Year The Colored Sisters Came To Town by Jacqueline Guidry ( we had selected this before but the publishing company was delayed so we are finally getting this one. Written by a UMKC professor so look for any announcements about her appearing and talking somewhere and we will try to go together)

November 17th Life Of Pi by Yann Martel (Winner of the Booker Prize)

December 15th This is our annual Christmas dinner and gift exchange night at a local restaurant. More details will follow when we get closer to December. No books are selected this month as we are too busy to read with the holidays.

January 19th You Are Not A Stranger Here by Adam Haslett This is a series of 8 short stories with a common theme.

February 16th The Lake Of Dead Languages by Carol Goodman This is a mystery.

March 22nd **note this is a week later than normal because of Spring Break Swan by Frances Mayes (She wrote Under the Tuscan Sun)

April 19th The Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood

May 17th My Losing Season by Pat Conroy
